About ainia

ainia is a technological center formed by more than 1100 companies in the food sector and related industries. The legal status of the centre is that of a private non-profit association which aim is the promotion of innovation, research and technological development.

Our mission is essentially to "add value to companies by leading innovation and technological development in a responsible and committed way".

Our vision for 2012 is to become a technological benchmark and a leader of innovation in Spain in a sustainable way.

Accredited with number 3 in the Register of Centres of lnnovation and Technology of Spain, ainia has a clear global vocation oriented to give an effective response to business needs.

ainia technological centre belongs to the Spanish Federation of lnnovation and Technology (FEDIT), the Network of Technological lnstitutes of the Valencian Community (REDIT), to the European Food lnstitutes (EFI), as well as numerous entities and associations, and has signed agreements with national and intemational organisations.

When 2010 began, we were conscious that it would be a difficult year, characterised by uncertainty. The change of cycle we are experiencing has shown us that we must rapidly change to adapt and, as much as possible, to anticipate the new environment.

Nowadays, the market demands a clear visualisation of the final benefit of R&D&I investment.
Our current challenge is to relate the high risk research efforts with the highly successful technological products and services on the market, and to do it in the shortest time possible. In short, to turn knowledge, applied research, into an important asset of the income statement of our clients and associates.

In 2010, we have set the basis to orientate our organisation towards the change demanded of us, improving our services and products, reducing the process to bring value to the assets acquired, strengthening our commercial and technological specialisation, promoting a policy of alliances, improving internal production systems to be more flexible, rapid and efficient when generating responses and, in short, accelerating the process we defined in the Strategic Plan 2009-2012 to consolidate our national and European technological reference.

The results that we now present are the reflection of the commitment that all the people who make ainia a reality each day have acquired with companies and society. Our commitment to excellence leads us to constantly improve, both individually and collectively, which has allowed us to advance in all the lines previously described, maintaining at the same time our effort to invest significantly and create quality employment. In terms of our balance, the economic results obtained have allowed us to improve our economic and financial structure and, therefore, to consolidate the long-term sustainability of our centre.

Our commitment to companies, to ethics, to people, to the environment and to society marks the trust of our clients, associates and collaborators and determines the values that form part of our identity as a team. This trust is reflected in the results obtained in 2010, and we hope to be capable of maintaining this trust and responding to the expectations placed in us during the coming years.
